It is the desire of Barbara’s heart to serve the Lord and influence others for Christ. There is nothing on earth more fulfilling and purposeful than living with the goal:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with
all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your
neighbor as yourself” as stated in Luke 10:27.
Barbara loves to immerse her mind in God’s Word and strongly encourages others to be students of study as well. She knows that to love Christ requires a deliberate decision and commitment.
Education
Barbara believes that having
a heart of love for Christ and others is paramount in life. She trusts I Corinthians 13, which encourages
us to have faith, hope and love and that love is the greatest of the 3. Loving God with all her heart has enabled her
to love others with compassion beyond her own abilities.
Barbara provide a
Christ-centered home for her husband and best friend Bob and her greatest
earthly loves are her husband, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, parents
and siblings, and last but not least – her girlfriends! She states, “When God has surrounded you with
such great love from Him and from so many others, how can you not love Him with
all your heart!”
Barbara also knows this type
of love involves a deep, personal love relationship with the Father as well as
with His children. She pursues this love relationship with personal time alone
with God in study and prayer. Barbara
firmly believes in loving God through a church home and she and Bob are members
of
To Barbara, loving God with
your soul means being striving for those things in life that have eternal
value. Since she accepted Christ over 25
years ago, He has taught her the difference between being sold-out on the
surface and being sold-out – soul deep.
With so many earthly things vying for her time, she tries to focus with
spiritual eyes on those things that will last beyond this life.
Barbara insists that loving
the Lord with all your mind, heart and soul, wouldn’t be any fun (or very
useful) if we didn’t love Him with all our strength. She says, “For the believer, the amount of
physical strength we have to offer God is not significant. It’s the fact we
permit Him total access and allow His strength to take over. Paul loved to teach that in his weakness was
the strength of God perfected!” She
believes wholeheartedly in service.

Service To Church
Barbara uses her spiritual
gift of encouragement to love her neighbor as herself. God as taught her the value of encouragement
in her life and she passes it on to others.
She lives her life by the premise that we are to comfort others, as
we’ve been comforted and lends spiritual aid to those around her by offering a
soft shoulder to cry on, strong arms to provide comfort, ears to listen and a
mouth to speak words of grace and love. Barbara’s
strong commitment to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) occasionally requires
her to get out of her comfort zone as she continually shares the love of Christ
with others through her church work, missionary work, professional life, and
everyday life.
