Praise Be To God

Praise Be to God

I spent the first week of this journey sick and having camper problems. I tried to minister to others but found no one receptive. It seemed like all I could do was minister to myself and I wasn’t doing that very well.

The below excerpt from my prayer journal was written a few days before I went back home to put Happy in the shop and to recover physically. I’m back on the road, hale and hearty and God has been preparing the way for ministry in an amazing way. I’ve talked to many people, spoken in a church, taken pictures, and posted stories on the web. Praise be to God! The power to do this comes from Him.

Prayer Journal Entry – 7-18-06

Dear God:
I sit beside a lake at a state park in Cordele Georgia. I watch the green reflection of the towering pines tress so reflective of Georgia. Occasionally the waters ripple as a fish or turtle surfaces to get a glimpse of the day above. Belle sits at my feet, ever reverent of my conversations with You. A father and son hopefully cast their line into the water. A quiet boat slowly meanders across the glassy water, leaving ripples fanning out behind. Distant laughter of children and trucks from the highway break the illusion that You are I are all that exist.

What wonders do You have in store for me today? Will my assignments be difficult? Shall I meet Your children today or are You still preparing me to do Your bidding? Selfishly, I ask for health, safety, and ease of travel as I struggle to accept Your will in all things.

Your spirit ministers to me saying, fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name. You are mine. (Isaiah 43:1)

The yellow wild flowers blanket the earth, seemingly sent for my sheer delight. The two birds cavorting remind me to play. The singing crickets remind me that You are singing over me. I breathe in Your Spirit and breathe out my doubts, fears, and discouragement.

As Your strength becomes mine, I shake off the trappings and weaknesses of this earthly temple. Your grace is sufficient for this one day. There is nothing I cannot do when Your power is mine. You are my sun and my shield as I go out bestowed with Your favor and honor. (Psalm 84:11)

Love,

Cheryle
