Shopping Tip – Artist June Sprenger

The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. Deut 2:7 NIV
A shopping tip from Cheryle Touchton – surely this is a joke. If you know me, you know I don’t like to shop and often need lessons in things like bargains, where to go, colors, and style. There is one exception to that – I love shopping for good art – particularly if I have money and the space to put it. I have an eye for talent and love supporting God given talent. Today, I had neither money for nor the space to put anything else so I’m passing this information on to you – in case you have money and space or are looking for a unique gift for someone.
June Sprenger loves the Lord. Those were her words. She became a Christian at age 18. Her mother and older sister had been praying for her to find the Lord. Her childhood home had little Christian influence and she and her other sister had been searching for answers to life. One day her sister came home holding a Bible and said, “I’ve found the answer.”
June’s response, “Please don’t tell me the answer is in religion.” For June and her sister, the answer was Jesus Christ.
June has spent her life serving Jesus by being a wife, mother, and occasionally serving in the mission field. Her children are grown and now she says God is calling her to paint and to teach children to paint. She has taught painting to children in the mission field and soon will be teaching young people to paint with Teen Challenge. Painting is her talent and ministry. She is so committed to this Godly calling that she spends two nights a week away from her beloved North Dakota farmer husband so she can work in the shop that displays her art.
June paints boxes, chests, glasses, pitchers, screens, and anything else that will hold paint. Her artwork is delicate and her pieces beautiful. I was impressed with the reasonable price and would recommend her work for someone who likes unique items, for the person who already has everything, and for anyone who enjoys art.
You can find June’s art in a shop in Medora, North Dakota and she will take orders over the phone and mail it anywhere. You can see pictures of her work in the photo gallery of this website under North Dakota – Medora – Artist June Sprenger but please understand – a picture cannot do art justice.
